Keep the coach out of the substitution zone - they only obstruct the scorer's view - this may be deliberate time wasting!.Note: Do not accept a signal from the coach.When the substitute arrives in the substitution zone, blow your whistle if the scorer does not have a buzzer or whistle themselves.When a player enters the substitution zone, check they are ready before blowing the whistle. Return to position and signal to 1st Ref - Ok.Hint: this helps to stop the interruption and get the team back on court.to advise them the number of T.O.s they have had. At the end of the 30 Sec (& not before) blow the whistle and approach the coach who called the T.O.Hint: Do not approach either coach during the 30 secs - they want every single second, and will not appreciate an interruption.Check 1st referee is not trying to get your attention.If they do not have a coach, check the on-court captain.Move to the side of the scorer's table.Then move to the receiving team, and check their bench for substitutes and T.O.Check for activity suggesting Substitution or T.O.If the 1st referee has any delay in his/her signal, move to the side of the team you consider at fault - but do not signal.touch, ball out (but no line judges) signal discretely to the 1st referee, but do not hold the signal for too long.
